Great performance, great song, great album, great band — but one thing has always mystified me about this song.

Just watching the miles flying by

moving forward through the flaming doors

I.. I don’t even… Anyway, ignore that and focus on the chorus: You have to learn how to die / If you wanna wanna be alive.
